Shopee Coins and Vouchers: Maximise Savings
On Shopee you can stack one free-shipping voucher, one Shopee (platform) voucher and one seller voucher per checkout, then pay down the rest with Shopee Coins — where 100 Coins equal S$1 and can cover up to 30% of an order.

Shopee’s savings add up only when you understand how the pieces fit: coins, three kinds of voucher, and strict limits on how many you can combine. Done right, a checkout can carry a free-shipping voucher, a Shopee platform voucher, a seller voucher and a slice of Shopee Coins all at once. This guide explains each piece from Shopee’s own help pages, the rules that trip people up, and a worked example. Mechanics are as of 31 October 2026; exact voucher values change with every campaign.
What Shopee Coins are worth
Shopee Coins are the platform’s official reward points. The rate is simple: 100 Coins offset S$1 at checkout, there is no minimum balance before you can spend them, and they cannot be exchanged for cash. You turn them on with the “Redeem Shopee Coins” toggle in your cart, and they come off the amount you pay.
Coins are credited after an order is completed, not when you place it — so coins earned on today’s order help your next one, not this checkout.
How to earn coins
Coins trickle in from several places on the Shopee app:
- Spending on a cashback promotion — you earn 1 Coin for every S$1 spent on a transaction that includes a cashback promotion (shipping fees don’t count).
- Daily check-in on the Coins Rewards page, with more for consecutive days.
- Rating products — a review over 50 characters with photos or a video can earn up to 7 Coins; only items above S$0.50 qualify, and the same product rewards you at most twice in 30 days.
- Shopee Prizes games and the occasional live-stream giveaway.
- ShopeePay merchant cashback when you pay with ShopeePay at a participating merchant.
The coin limits that catch people out
This is where a big balance disappoints people, so it is worth knowing the caps.

How much of an order Shopee Coins can cover, and when they expire.
- How much of an order they cover: on Shopee orders, Coins can offset up to 30% of the transaction amount. (Digital products are also capped at 30%, ShopeePay merchant payments at 50%.)
- A daily and weekly ceiling: you can use at most 1,000 Coins every 24 hours and 7,000 Coins a week on Shopee orders — so a 10,000-Coin balance can’t all go into one big purchase.
- They expire: Coins expire at the end of the third month from when they were earned (the month earned counts as month one), so Coins earned any time in January expire on 31 March.
- Oldest first: when you spend, the oldest Coins are used first, which at least means expiry works in your favour if you shop regularly.
The three voucher types
Shopee groups vouchers into three main types, and the type is what decides whether two can be used together:
| Voucher type | What it does | Who funds it |
|---|---|---|
| Platform (Shopee) voucher | Discount off, a percentage off, or Coins cashback across eligible sellers | Shopee |
| Free shipping voucher | Waives or reduces delivery charges | Shopee / logistics |
| Seller voucher (shop / product / live) | Discount on a specific shop, product or live stream | The seller |
Platform vouchers themselves come in flavours — a fixed or percentage Discount Off voucher, or a Coins Cashback voucher (more on that below). You claim vouchers from the voucher pages in the app, and they sit in My Vouchers until you apply them at checkout, or you enter a voucher code before paying.
How stacking actually works
The rule is one of each main type per checkout. You can stack:

One of each voucher type per checkout, plus Coins.
- 1 free shipping voucher, plus
- 1 Shopee (platform) voucher, plus
- 1 seller voucher, plus
- Shopee Coins on top of all of them.
What you cannot do is use two of the same type — a shop voucher and a product voucher are both “seller vouchers”, so only one applies at a time. Seller vouchers apply automatically once you meet their conditions; for platform and free-shipping vouchers you select them under “Shopee Voucher” at checkout. If you have several Shopee vouchers, try each one — Shopee lets you compare which gives the bigger saving before you confirm.
Cashback vouchers are not instant discounts
A fixed or percentage Discount Off voucher, by contrast, comes off the price immediately — so when you are choosing between two platform vouchers, a “S$5 off” voucher helps this order while a “15% cashback” voucher helps the next one.
Turning bank points into coins
If you bank with DBS or POSB, you can top up before a sale. Shopee’s Points to Coins feature converts 1 DBS Point into 1 Shopee Coin, and 1 POSB Daily$ into 100 Shopee Coins. Converted Coins follow the same expiry and usage rules as any other, so convert only what you plan to spend soon.
A worked example
Mistakes that quietly cost you
- Claiming but not applying. A claimed voucher still has to be selected at checkout (or auto-applied once its minimum spend is met) — check it actually appears before you pay.
- Missing the minimum spend. Most vouchers need a minimum order value; the checkout shows how much more to add.
- Ignoring ShopeePay-only labels. Some vouchers only work when you pay with ShopeePay — read the label.
- Hoarding coins past expiry. As above, they lapse at the end of the third month.
Does a voucher make it a real deal?
Vouchers and coins lower what you pay, but they don’t make an inflated price a good one. A seller can raise a price, then “discount” it back with a voucher. The CCCS Guidelines on Price Transparency say any discount or usual-price comparison must be a genuine price benefit with a valid basis, and suppliers should keep records of past prices. So judge the item against its normal price first — see how to spot fake discounts and our price tracking — and only then let the vouchers and coins decide the final total.
Common questions
Do coins or vouchers reduce what the site earns if I use an affiliate link? Yes — commission is worked out on your net spend after discounts and coins, so claiming every voucher is in your interest. See how our prices stay honest.
Can I use coins and a voucher together? Yes. Vouchers apply first, then Coins can offset up to 30% of what remains, within the daily cap.
Why did only part of my coins apply? The 30%-of-order cap or the 1,000-Coins-per-24-hours limit was reached — both apply to Shopee orders.
The bottom line
Stack one free-shipping voucher, one Shopee voucher and one seller voucher, then add Coins up to 30% of the order and the 1,000-a-day cap. Remember that cashback vouchers pay you back in Coins for next time, that Coins expire at the end of the third month with the oldest spent first, and that none of it turns an inflated price into a bargain.
