10.10 Sale Singapore: How It Works and What to Check

Short answer

10.10 is one of Singapore's double-digit online sales, held each 10 October on Shopee and Lazada. In 2026 it ran about 9-12 October. It works like the bigger November sale but is usually smaller, so check an item's usual price first.

Every October, “10.10” is the second of Singapore’s big “double-digit” online sales. It sits between September’s 9.9 and November’s flagship 11.11, and it runs in exactly the same way as both. This guide explains what 10.10 is, how its savings actually stack, where it fits in the sale calendar, and how to check a listing so the deal you grab is genuinely low — not just loudly advertised.

What 10.10 actually is

10.10 takes its name from the date 10 October and lands on or around it each year. Like the other double-digit dates, it was popularised by the big marketplaces: in Singapore, Shopee and Lazada each run a 10.10 campaign, typically with pre-sale days in the first week of October and promotions that stretch for several days on either side of the 10th. In 2026, major platforms ran their 10.10 offers roughly over 9-12 October.

It is one of four recurring double-digit sales — 9.9, 10.10, 11.11 and 12.12 — spread across the final third of the year. Of these, 11.11 (Singles’ Day) is generally the flagship, but the mechanics, voucher types and the need to check prices are identical across all of them.

How the savings really work

The headline percentage on a product is only part of the story. On 10.10, as on every double-digit sale, most of the real saving comes from things you have to claim or apply yourself:

  • Platform vouchers — store-wide or category vouchers claimed before checkout, usually with a minimum spend and a cap.
  • Free-shipping vouchers — often the difference between a genuine deal and a mediocre one once delivery is counted.
  • Coins / cashback — small balances you earn and redeem, worth collecting but rarely decisive on their own.
  • Flash sales and brand-store drops — time-limited offers that often hold the best genuine prices if the item was already keenly priced.

Because these can usually be combined, two identical carts can total very different amounts depending on which vouchers you remembered to claim — though stacking rules, caps and minimum spends vary by platform, year and category. Claim the vouchers first, then shop.

How 10.10 compares with the other sales

Each double-digit window has a slightly different character, and knowing which one suits your purchase saves both money and the frustration of a sold-out listing.

Card comparing the four double-digit sales by month and what each tends to suit: 9.9 September new-season launches and stock; 10.10 October mid-season top-ups; 11.11 November biggest discounts and vouchers; 12.12 December year-end and gifting

How the four double-digit sales tend to differ. Varies by platform, seller and category.

  • 9.9 opens the season with new-season launches and deeper stock.
  • 10.10 is a mid-season top-up: a useful window if you do not want to wait until November, but rarely the deepest.
  • 11.11 generally brings the largest voucher pools and the lowest headline prices.
  • 12.12 is a year-end restock for gifting, often a close second to 11.11 but with thinner selection.

So 10.10 suits buyers who want a reasonable deal now rather than gambling on stock lasting until 11.11. If your item is flexible on timing and not at risk of selling out, there is usually little cost to waiting.

How to tell a real deal from a dressed-up one

A big strike-through price is persuasive, but it only means something if the “usual price” is genuine. Singapore’s Competition and Consumer Commission (CCCS) price-transparency guidelines say a “usual” or “before” price used in a comparison should be a bona fide previous price — not one that was never really charged, or charged only briefly just before the “sale”. The guidelines also expect mandatory charges such as taxes and fees to be reflected in the headline price.

A few quick checks:

  1. Know the usual price before the hype. Note what the item normally costs a week or two earlier.
  2. Ignore the countdown pressure. A genuinely good price is still good in five minutes.
  3. Compare the same item across Shopee and Lazada, including shipping and vouchers.
  4. Watch for inflated “before” prices. If the strike-through jumped up just before 10.10, be sceptical.

Don’t forget GST on overseas buys

10.10 pulls in a lot of cross-border listings, so an overseas “deal” needs the tax added before you compare it like-for-like.

How to prepare for the next one

Because the double-digit dates recur every year, the best preparation starts well before the date:

  • Build a shortlist of items you actually want, with each one’s everyday price noted down.
  • Pre-claim vouchers in the days before, when platforms release them early.
  • Decide your ceiling price per item in advance so a countdown timer cannot push you past it.
  • Compare across platforms on the day, adding shipping and any GST before judging.

The bottom line

10.10 is a solid mid-season opportunity, especially if you would rather not wait for November. Treat the banners as a starting point, not proof: decide what you want in advance, know its usual price, claim your vouchers, and compare before you commit. If 10.10 has passed or does not deliver, 11.11 and 12.12 follow within weeks, with Black Friday in between; 9.9 opens the run again next September.
